Optiplex 3060 MTower i5-8500 Ram error code amber 2/7
Optiplex 3060 MT ram upgrade failed. Intel i5-8500 CPU. I purchased Kingston HyperX Fury DDR4 2666Mhz (HX426C16FB2/8) 2x8GB=16GB. The amber codes are 2/7, so a memory error. I tried them one at a time, same error. I restored the original 4GB Micron stick and it starts fine. Why are these DDR4 2666Mhz sticks not working? Am i supposed to do something in the BIOS? What ram will work? Thx!

You can try removing the CMOS battery for 15 minutes and then reinserting it. But more than likely it is not compatible with the 3060. For the most compatible RAM go to the Crucial page here.

Thank you for replying. I tried the battery reset to no effect. I'll purchase Crucial. I picked this up as an upgrade option for my 12 year old son for his Roblox. What with this models M2 PCIe NVMe socket only accepting Gen 2 when it is still advertised as Gen 3 socket (Only half speed works) and now memory that I bought not working I'm loathe to purchase a Dell for myself. Thanks again.

Re: Why are these DDR4 2666Mhz sticks not working?
you have got HX426C16FB2/8
user benchmark has validated HyperX HX426C16FB2K2/16.
to me they look like same ram, just different kit. not sure why your ram does not work.
3060 oem ram
4GB 1X4GB 2666MHz DDR4 Memory
4Go (1x4Go) demémoire DDR4 2400MHz
8GB 1x8GB DDR4 2400MHz Memory
