Optiplex 3090 - unable to to create raid arrey

bought a new optiplex 3090 tower

added 2 SSD sata drives (same maker, same model, same size)

raid mode is on in bios, but when entering Device Configuration after post, i can see the two drives under "non-raid drives" and the drives say the controller type is AHCI.

how can i change the controller type to raid ?

RAID 1 Mirror can only be created if the Chipset and BIOS support that.

Raid Container must be created BEFORE OS is installed which means you must have F6 mass storage drivers available on 32 gig FAT32 USB 2.0 flash drive at time of windows install.

The raid container is created and formatted via  BIOS not by the OS.

Optiplex when in UEFI mode you hit F12 and click on device configuration that will get you into the RAID BIOS to initialize the raid container.  To the OS a raid mirror is a single drive. If it has Raid in bios
On Start Up you must press the Ctrl+I keys to enter the

Intel RAID Option ROM utility.
