Optiplex 7010
Hello. I have a optiplex 7010. I was told I could upgrade my ram so I bought a ram stick that was 8gb. Every time I put this ram stick in my pc power button blinks orange and I can’t turn it on. When I take the stick out and put the original ram sticks in the pc works again and turns on. How do I fix this? The Black Ram is the new installed one and The green is the original ram stick.

I see there's 7010's on Amazon and newegg with 32GB RAM.
Here's one example of an 8GB stick for the 7010: https://www.amazon.com/Optiplex-Factor-Desktop-PC3-12800-1600MHz/dp/B00VO54T8E/ref=mp_s_a_1_12_sspa?dchild=1&keywords=optiplex+7010+32gb+ram&qid=1611036971&sr=8-12-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUFMS0JMR1dUNEpPNTAmZW5jcnlwdGVkSWQ9QTA3NjY4NTAxOUQ2Rlc1NEdPUzFQJmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTEwMjUxODQySVI3WE9MV0JRRFNMJndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfcGhvbmVfc2VhcmNoX210ZiZhY3Rpb249Y2xpY2tSZWRpcmVjdCZkb05vdExvZ0NsaWNrPXRydWU=

The max spec. is 16GB. However, users exceeding max RAM in some of the somewhat older Optiplex's has been nothing unusual.
What version of BIOS do you have? Check with the old RAM in and PC running. If you don't have the latest last version for the 7010 (A29), try upgrading it. Then see if you're new stick of RAM will work.
If it doesn't, get RAM that specifically says it's for the 7010. The A-Tech RAM I bought for my 7010 is green. So I'm not sure if anything might be off about the stick you bought.
