I have a question regarding possibilities of upgrading the graphics on a 7060 SFF. As stated here it won't be possible, but the folks at PCMag here say otherwise. I am confused now.
This from the support page of the 7060SFF. It is confusing though since Dell does not offer a GPU upgrade from the products page and the RX 550 card recommends a 400W PSU yet only draws 50W. The review tested the system with the RX 550 I believe, so obviously used the stock PSU that is factory installed. Like I said, very confusing and at times contradictory information. But the information below does come from the Dell Support page so should be accurate.
You can use a Low Profile card that requires no additional power, since the PCI-e connector can only provide 75 W of energy. A VGA probably wouldn't draw that much, just 35 to 55 W in most cases, so the PSU will handle. I recommend a GT 1030 LP, since it would provide you performance leaps and bounds above anything Dell would sell you, they are quite inexpensive and draw the mentioned 35 W max.
Due to the size of the case and Power-Supply, your choices are limited.
In reality ... any use-case that requires much more "GPU horse-power" than current/existing video-card (or included Intel on-board IGP) ... will not fit or work.
These machines are for casual office workers.
This is the wrong machine for high-end video work. A OptiPlex-7060 Tower would have been better.
