Optiplex 790 MT does not detect EVGA GTX 1050 SC
I bought a GTX 1050 awhile ago and tried to install it on my Optiplex 790 MT for budget gaming. I have seen people do it on youtube and everything worked fine for them so i thought i would be fine as well. However when i plugged in my gpu and booted up the system i was getting no signal from the gpu. My optiplex 790 MT has an i5-2400, 4 Gigs of Ram, 500GB HDD,and a 600 watt PSU(i went from the regular stock psu to evga 600 watt psu). I checked the BIOS using onboard graphics while the 1050 is still plugged in but it is as if the card is non existent. It does not show up in the BIOS at all. The fans are spinning on the GPU so i assume it is getting power. I checked online and found out that the card is a uefi card so i wiped my hard drive and installed a windows 10 uefi iso file( I know dell doesn't support windows 10 on a optiplex 790 but i just like windows 10 :p). I installed the ISO file and i even checked system Information to confirm i was booted into UEFI and it was. So i plugged the card in again and still no display. Keep in mind i cannot install the Nvidia drivers if my Optiplex 790 cannot detect it. It does not even show up in device manager and even when i clcik "show hidden devices" there is no hidden device except for my mouse and keyboard for some reason and they operate just fine. There is no hidden display adapters and it is only my HD Graphics(HD Graphic is up-to-date). So i went online again and keep seeing people talking about disabling the onboard graphics, but i cannot do that in BIOS so i went into device manager and disabled the Intel Graphics and boot into safe mode and there is still no GPU detected. So my last resort was updating the BIOS and all the recent drivers to the PC and i kept reflashing the BIOS but GPU is still not detected. I thought the PCI slot was the problem but there was a HD5450 that came with the optiplex and it worked just fine. when i put it i the blue pci slot the Mobo detects in and it says it is a VGA Display adaptor or something like that in the BIOS but the BIOS says None when the GTX 1050 is plugged in. What can I do, should I get a new Mobo? because i currently have a 0HY9JP and all the refurbished ones are j3c2f Mobo. So should i try to replace it or just try to build a pc from scratch instead. I am just trying to play roblox at 60 fps with max settings. Also since the PCI only outputs 35 watts with the stock psu does that mean that even with my 600 watt psu the pci slot will stay limited at 35 or will it increase?

More information on the GPU upgrade.

However RoBlox system requirements are not intensive. You can run it on your system with a lot less than a 1050.

But with your system approaching 8 years old, now might be the time to consider a Dell prebuilt or building your own. Building is not difficult and Youtube is full of videos detailing how to build. You can use the GTX 1050 in the system and spend no more than $600 to $700 on the parts you need.

Default 790 power supply is too small for a 75W card.
The Good news is that a new EVGA 750B1 unit fits fine.
I have used and installed a GT 1030 GTX 1050TI and GTX 1060 and they all worked fine.

Power supply upgrade is not optional.
and there are a lot of fake cards out there.

I had this issue with an older card in a 790 mt and I fixed it by going in windows and going in device manager and disabling the integrated graphics and plugging the GPU back in and it worked
