S.M.A.R.T. not supported by some operating systems
S.M.A.R.T. monitoring of the hard drives is not supported by Linux OS and by Mac OS. I thought I figured out how to disable it in BIOS settings but it still kept coming up in my debugging report. I then found that in Linux I could turn the feature of at the hard drive, but that's only for for that use, when I power off the machine it comes back on at power up. It has caused me a lot of issues and I can not yet Dell to tell me down to disable this because my warrantee has expired. There has to be a way to disarm it for for on the one drive and it can run on windows. If anyone knows anything about this please help because it's crashing my OS counting all functions. when a file is copied or transferred, at the end of the process when the file is dropped, it just locks up and manual restart is needed. When i veiw the debugger it says it three times in it's reports that the SMART is unsupported. I really just need to turn off one hard drive. Thanks in advance.

@BADboy
@DELL-Cares
VirtualBox hard drives are not physical hard drives.
Smart Status comes from Bios on Motherboard and HDD controller bios and is not related in any way to ANY OS S.M.A.R.T. (Self-Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Technology; is a BIOS monitoring system for physical disk drives.
There is no free support for Linux or Virtual Box from Dell or Microsoft.
BIOS EPSA error code about smart is VERY specific.
This is enabled or disabled in F2 BIOS Setup.
Error Code 2000-0151
Hard Drive incorrect status 3E
Smart Predicitve Failure
