Thermal Compound

Question

So I had a 3030 AIO with a failed Mobo.  The tech that came out was the same one that I have seen for my other cases (I manage about 300 Dell PCs)  When he was putting the system back together I said aren't you going to put new thermal paste on? He said of Course and proceeded to put about a pea and a half worth of paste on top of the old paste which was already spilling over the side of the processor.    I was like no, no, no... You have to clean it off first then put half that amount on. He laughed a little and I had to go upstairs to get some rubbing alcohol and wipes to clean it off. He proceeded to say that in his 17 years he had never done that. I wonder how many machines have crashed after he's worked on them.    Dell, please make it clear to the onsite techs that the thermal paste should be replaced PROPERLY if the heat sink is removed.

That's not good, but as this is primarily a users helping users forum and not a direct line to Dell this will probably fall on deaf ears.

The on-site techs are 3rd party contractors. Not sure who or where to try and contact about this.
