Which Optiplex motherboard for VT-d support?
Link to 760 Tech Guidebook p. 31
As shown above, the Optiplex 760 tech guidebook & svc manual both show that VT-d is possible.
I have two Dell Optiplex 760 MT with the Intel E8400 CPU, which has VT-d virtualization technology.
https://ark.intel.com/products/33910/Intel-Core2-Duo-Processor-E8400-6M-Cache-3_00-GHz-1333-MHz-FSB
Both 760s have motherboard 0M858N and BIOS A16 but I don't get the option to enable VT-d.
The only option is to generally enable "virtualization", which only enables VT-x. (I know that this option doesn't enable VT-d because VMware and VirtualBox will not allow me to "passthrough" a PCI card because VT-d is not enabled).
My guess is the 0M858N mobo doesn't support VT-d since Dell docs say it is an option with 760 models.
So there must be other motherboards that shipped with the 760 MT that do support VT-d.
Questions:
1. What are the P/Ns/model #s for the Optiplex 760 MT motherboards that do support VT-d?
2. Do these motherboards support Core 2 Duo CPUs like my E8400 or only Core 2 Quads?
3. If I'm wrong and the 0M858N does support VT-d, then why don't I have the option to enable it on either PC?
Thank for replies
What my BIOS shows:
Oh, and in case you're wondering, yes, I do have NX/Execute Disable Bit turned ON.
What it's supposed to show (found on Google Images):

What about the 0G214D motherboard. Does it support VT-d if used with the E8400 CPU?

I have confirmation from another 760 MT owner that his Optiplex 760MT BIOS Settings (with the G214D motherboard & Intel E8400 CPU) does not include the "VT for Direct I/O" option.

Bonjour j'ai un Dell Optiplex 7010 et je ne trouve pas le VT-d, pourriez vous me dire comment le retrouver dans le bios parce que je souhaite le désactiver. Merci de me répondre.

VT-x is there
VT-D is not.
These older models that run 32 bit XP are not VMWARE ESX Servers.
VT-d DMA Remapping requires Processor and Chipset and BIOS support.
Optiplex models are not Dell precision Workstations.
VT-d requires Workstation and select Server products

All of the current software requires CORE I3 I5 I7 with
LAHF and SAHF with 64 bit os.
Intel® Virtualization Technology for Directed I/O (VT-d) is not offered as a feature only (VT-x) based on XP and virtual pc 2007.
