WiFi card not registering

My Parents have an Optiplex all in one and the wifi/bluetooth card is not registering. Looks fine in the Bios but not after booting windows

On device manger It has a code 10 for the bluetooth and code 28 for the network controller.

I've tried updating the drivers with the intel driver and support assistant but it each time it the installation fails.

I thought it was an update bug that would resolve itself but its been like this for 3 days now.

You did not post the exact model number of the system so I cannot indicate a link to the proper Dell support page. But I would recommend installing the Dell drivers instead of Intel supplied drivers. That is assuming the Wi-Fi card is the OEM factory installed version. Dell commonly modifies hardware such as GPU and Wi-Fi cards for maximum performance so that can create problems using drivers such as those from Intel. And as you know those codes would both show up with drivers that are missing.

try a clean Windows 10 OS install on your parents Optiplex AIO.  This will likely automatically fix the driver issue for WiFi BT.  Although I am not a fan of Windows 10 downsides, it does have the merit of automatic relevant driver download and installation that works most of the time, thus user friendly (as compared to the older Win 7).
