Windows 11 update from Windows 10 in Optiplex 3011 without any TPM

Optiplex 3011, Ivy bridge Intel 3rd Gen cpu, No TPM, running Windows 10

Successful update to Windows 11 (understanding no future MS support)
First try official Win11.iso + official MS registry editor HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup

add new key Labconfig, BypassTPMCheck, BypassRAMCheck, BypassSecureBootCheck. and new key MoSetup, AllowUpgradesWithUnsupportedTPMOrCPU. all edit spelled correctly including Cap, all values set to 1.  Restart.

Still does not work, still get the error of TPM2.0 and Secureboot, cannot proceed.

lesson: registry editor trick method may not work in all cases, but it is worth a try.

then try unofficial Windows 11 media GitHub to bypass, which works.  It creates a modified Win 11.iso

mount the .iso in Windows 10 then run set up. You have option to save nothing or save old data.  If choose save nothing, it is still not a clean install but spares trouble of burning the iso on a DL dvd or making a bootable usb.

Win 11 takes a very long time to install/update than Win 10. definitely helps to relax and take a long break to let it do it over night on its own.

Edit: Regeditor new key is LabConfig and MoSetup respectively.  Again the registry trick does not work on a Dell ivy bridge laptop when trying to update from Win 10 to 11.

Unofficial Windows 11.iso from GitHub works again.

previous experience of very slow Windows 11 update was on a sata hdd.

when update on a sata ssd, much faster.

when updated to Win 11 on a Dell laptop ivy bridge cpu (without TPM), it asked for WiFi access but then got into a restart loop keeping on asking to choose language option.  Work around: manually turn off wireless on laptop then restart.  This breaks the restart loop and Windows 11 setup proceeds properly.  Then you may manually turn on wireless again.

One previous misinformation of internet review is that Windows 11 mandates Microsoft account log in.  This is not true.  You can click sign in options then choose offline account, give a random username, and have option of no password.

Update: successful update from Windows 10 to Windows 11 on Optiplex 780 running core 2 duo cpu (3 GHz), no TPM.  sata hdd install.  not bad.  This is a 2009 Dell Optiplex.
