Tools for manage RAC on VM
Hello Oracle Experts:
On the topic of Oracle RAC running on VMware, is there any EMC or VMware tools to manage RAC infrastructure like affinity rules for RAC nodes, RAC VM guest disk to datastore to vmdk mapping, advance shared disk setting?

You have a couple of areas you can explore. First on the licensing end, both Blue Medora and IQuate have offerings which help you with things like host affinity rules, where VMs have run, etc.
In terms of things like storage settings, the best approach, especially to start, is the miTrend performance analysis. This will give you a detailed report on your storage IO load, what Oracle settings need to be changed, various storage changes you can make, like enabling XTremCache, and so forth.
Also, the OEM plug-ins are very helpful. We have plug-ins for both VMAX and VNX. Both provide advanced storage visibility to OEM 12c users.

I think we can use VNX/VMAX plugins for monitoring the storage and the servers. While we can use Mitrend for the analysis of DB performance. I agree with Jeff here.
