Darn BIOS

I have a DELL INSPIRON N5110, and i cant update my BIOS because it says i need my battery charged at 10% but my charger wont charge my battery anymore, which is what im trying to fix, i looked online to see if i could fix it, but the only thing i found on the dell help website was that updating my bios could help. so i cant do that because the problem i have, is stopping me from performing the only solution i have available. is there any way to force the BIOS update with just the AC adapter plugged in?
