It is not apparent which controller you have from that picture, but it is a PERC.  There are no 2008R2 drivers for the PERC 4/SC or 4/DC, but if you have a 4e/DC, then you should be able to use this driver:

ftp.dell.com/.../LSI-LOGIC_MULTI-DEVICE_A00_R227150.exe

To configure RAID, you need to go to CTRL-M, Configure, View/Add, Space Bar to select drives, Enter to stop selection process, F10 to configure, Space Bar to select only "span", F10 to continue, select RAID level, leave all other settings as default, OK.  Then you need to Initialize the logical drive from the Main Menu in CTRL-M.

The driver I gave you is for the PERC 4e/DC and will not work for the 4/SC.  Like I said, I believe someone said they got it to install using the 2003x64 driver, but according to what I remember, the latest PERC firmware was REQUIRED (352D).  Yours (351S) is three or four versions out of date.  You could install 2003 and run the PERC firmware update (BIOS and ESM first), or you could use SBUU/SUU to update the firmware outside of the OS, or you could upgrade the controller to a supported controller - PERC 4e/DC.

Which RAID/storage controller do you have in your 1800?  You need the drivers for it.  It is less common to need storage drivers for a client PC install, but it is not unique to servers.

You must configure RAID first - the RAID array will appear to the OS as a single disk.

You must also obtain the correct driver for your controller.

Which RAID controller do you have?

Thanks for your support. right now i am not in front of my server. will check that after few hour. but still i have a question. If i have PERC 4/SC or 4DC. what is my option then. does it mean i can't Install windows server  2008R2 in that. do i have to purchase a new entire server?

any how i will send you the prt screen of Ctrm+M, configure , View/Add. cause i remember i can't find any way to go any place in Ctrl+M. either it show me the screen i showed you. or it say no logical drive. i can't find my physical drives. that are in slot 1,2,3. it shows empty as in picture. and just one 6th slot it shows proc. I iwll update u in few hours.

No, it doesn't mean you have to buy a whole new server - you just have to install a different OS or get a new controller.

Well, if 2008R2 is required, then maybe your project planner needs to do his homework and plan better for success - 2008R2 should not be required until it can be validated to work with the hardware.

I don't see a video.

I heard someone say they got 2008R2 to install on a PERC 4/xC controller using the 2003x64 drivers (with the latest firmware on the controller), but it's not supported, may or may not work (during or after the install), and you'd be on your own to try it.

well 2008R2 standard is compulsory. so thats mean i might have to change the controller.  i've uploaded one pic also and one 0.54 sec video. if you see that you will have better picture on what i am going through. the video is on what happen when i go to CTRL-M, Configure, View/Add. and the pic is from stratup of server.

no 2008 R2 is recomened by the software company who will be installing account software. and other thing is that i already purchased it. its my mistake i didn't thought that there would be any problem installing 2008r2 in our server. vidoe will be upload in 5 min.. but as you told me to go to  CTRL-M, Configure, View/Add. i did but it doesn't show any hard ddrive there .. its just show same picture as i send you 1st time. nothing shows. I think i should go to some hardware shop and tell them to change the controller.. but after that it would be working fine .. right. ?

Do the drive lights come on when you power on the server (should be by the time the system enters CTRL-M)?  Have you had the system open and doing anything inside of it?
