EMS firmware update before server BIOS update question.
In updating BIOS on a 1950 is see in the notes:
"Install any necessary Embedded Systems Management firmware prior to this BIOS update."
How can I tell what version of firmware is currently installed for EMS and is EMS the same as the BMC?
If it is and I run mc in ipmitool is that the firmware version in question?
# ipmitool mc info

This link will take you to the latest version of the ESM, which is the BMC, the latest version is 2.37 and it looks like you are at 2.10. When you run the update, it will confirm the version your system is at now and will ask you if you want to proceed with the update.
