I need a fax server solution.
The company I support currently receives an average of 125 faxes per day with an average of 25 pages each. I want to install a fax server with enough modems and fax lines that can handle the load and be expanded as needed. I want the incoming faxes to be transmitted via email IF POSSIBLE, saved to a shared drive otherwise. The problem I am having is I can find NOTHING online that tells me how many fax modems and what type of fax modem Server 2008 can handle. I currently have 6 fax lines coming in. I can install multiple serial ports onto a server box but don’t know if Server 2008 will support that many serial ports. Will server 2008 recognize and be able to use 6 modems? What model of Dell server has this number of serial ports or available PCI slots for expansion slots?

As this is a user-to-user (problem solving) section, I think you'd be better off posting your question in the "what do I buy" section: en.community.dell.com/.../default.aspx, or call your salesrep. He or she will need to engage their technical salesrep for sure, as modems aren't offered by Dell (in servers), so they may need to dig for specialty requests.
