I should have posted this...my bad... these guy's won't help you because they don't know the solution... Go to dellkvm.com and download the latest firmware for the 2161AD... after that you will be able to see these dongles and upgrade firmware on all dongles and make them all work together without any issues.
Can you provide the part number for the SIP? We sell Dell KVMs and Avocent KVMs. If these are Avocent SIPs then they will not likely work on our version of the Avocent switches.
We are not using PEM configuration. The SIPs are connected directly to the KVM. I will attempt connecting only these new SIPs and see what we get. Thanks.
If you are not using PEMs then I would suggest disconnecting all of your old SIPs and only connect these to the switch. If they are detected then run any updates on them that you can and test again with all SIPs populated.
Ok I tried that. That did not work either. Dell is suggesting now that we replace with DELL A7547276 ... so I guess we'll go that route. You'd think it wouldn't be so tough for someone to look up the DELL KVM 2161AD and say, "You need these USB KBM SIMs."

We do have compatibility lists, and I show the ones you received are compatible. There may have been a manufacturing issue with them or some other issue. Let me know if the new ones work.
im facing some issue with 2161AD KVM. i 've been provided with MPUIQ-VMCHS modules from my account manager but still unable to get my servers connected to the KVM
KVM Svce Tag :<ADMIN NOTE: Service tag removed as per privacy policy>
I got a new sip today to add to my Dell 2161DS-2 KVM
There was a paper along with the package to make sure that the firmware was above a certain level.
I have it on the latest firmware, the newest, that is on the dell support page for the tag
The video from this latest SIP, which was brand new, unopened, is all 'orange' or no color at all. Almost as if it was a black and white picture but replacing the black with 'orange'

Actually I stand corrected... it seems someone changed the part number... what we got was 430-4343.

Those SIPs should work fine. Is there anything else about the configuration you can tell me? Are you using port expansion module or any other non-standard configuration? The SIP you purchased will not likely work with a PEM: http://ftp.dell.com/Manuals/all-products/esuprt_ser_stor_net/esuprt_poweredge/dell-kvm-1081-2161-ad_User%27s%20Guide2_en-us.pdf Page 33 discusses the limitations of PEMs.
If you are not using PEMs then I would suggest disconnecting all of your old SIPs and only connect these to the switch. If they are detected then run any updates on them that you can and test again with all SIPs populated.
Thanks

I got a new sip today to add to my Dell 2161DS-2 KVM
There was a paper along with the package to make sure that the firmware was above a certain level.

Anyone know what this could be?

Hello NeuroPsyche,
I'm sorry to see the poor video quality with the new SIP.
How does it look with a monitor direct connected to the server? Try front and rear VGA ports.
Do you see any damaged pins on the SIP?
Try swapping two of the SIP place (this one with a working one) - see if the issue follows the SIP or stays with the server.
Test with a different CAT5 cable.
