LSI Logic: MPT BOOT Rom, No supported Device Found

Hallo
I have SC1600. I unplugged power cable opened the box removed DVD player and placed it back. But when i started the box up again it cameup with:
1. Press CRT + A to start LSI Logic Config Util... if i ignore this it goes to 2.
2. Scanning for device at HBA 0; IDE ; LUN 0... then it goes to 3.
3. LSI Logic Corp. MPT Boot Rom; No supported Device Found...

Beyond this point the server does nothing and all I can do is to reset the Server

I have no Idea what to do could anyone help.

Having the identical problem (minus the DVD replacement).  System booted normally this morning, then froze during the day.  After a hard reboot, the same message appears.  Is this a controller issue or a hard drive problem?

Hallo There!!

I got my problem fixed after a whole day of plugging stuf in and out.

I tested EVERYTHING!!!! but at the end of the day NOTHING was wrong!

I unplugged EVERYTHING: Floppy, CD, I mean EVERYTHING!! Rebooted a few times and then added one thing at a time and first JUST the HDD booted, then Floppy, etc.

I even tested OTHER equipment in my server, Thus at 1 stage i just had my motherboard in. I had other cables, memory, HDD, etc.

As i said at the end of the day nothing was wrong, my advice would be unplug EVERY THING and then start one by one.

If you think it might be your HDD you could buy SpinRight from www.grc.com it seems this guy know what he is doing.

Hope you get all working again.

Forward to 2007 thing played up again!!!! The thing is the BIOS is 12A BUT it does not pick-up the HDDs or any IDE... It does pick-up the 1.44 Floppy drive though?? Dell diagnostics DO pick-up the IDE drives and all seems to be fine BUT THE BIOS or any other Dos boot disk does not see the IDE!!! I even tried reflashing the BIOS not joy!!!!

This thread is 6 years old. It wouldn't surprise me if the original person no longer owns the server.
