Hello

Did I just bought the wrong RAM ?  Or is it a bios setting ?

There is no BIOS setting that should cause the error you are receiving with that configuration. I don't know if the memory is supported. I suggest testing the new memory by itself in slots 1,2. If you still receive errors then the new memory is either not compatible or faulty.

Thanks

I've tested the new ddr3 modules in slot 1 and 2 and get the same error message. it seems that's 2Rx4 memory is not supported.

Could an updated BIOS change this ? My current Bios is version 1.2.1 from 01/28/2010.

i believe there's a newer BIOS 1.12 from 2013. That's also confusing. The bios number is lower but off later date. Does the support of dual rank modules (2Rx4) depends o un updated BIOS ?

I think  i found the answer. in the technical guidebook on page 37:

T310 supports x8 (data width) and does not support x4 and x16 DRAM on RDIMM

Bummer ! Now i know I can only use 2Rx8 dddr3 modules.
