PE 800 Dell DIags Exhibits Error Code: 2900:0221

This server started exhibiting intermittent shutdowns of the clients business application.  Ran Dell Diags and received the following error:

Error Code: 2900:0221 Memory sensor {ECC Corr Err} Correctable Error Bank 1 Dimm B and IPMI System Event Log Check failed.  Memory modules have been replaced with new and the diags still report the above errors.

Any assistance is this would be appreciated as I am leaning towards a defective mother board...

As part of the diagnostics, it checks the hardware event logs for errors.  If it finds one, it will display it as part of the diagnostics.  If running the MPMemory diagnostics (which you should to test memory), the diagnostics will actually fail when it finds a memory error in the logs.  The only way to get diags to run on the memory is to clear the hardware logs.  To do this, you will need to go to OpenManage Server Administrator (install it if not already installed), go to System, Logs tab, make sure Hardware section is selected, then Clear Log.  You can also do this with DSET ... choose the Gather/Clear option.  Outside of the OS, you can boot to an OMSA Live! CD and clear it through OpenManage there (use OMSA Live! CD version 5.4).  Once the logs have been cleared, then you can run the diags and take any failures at face value.

Neither item is onsite, will need to download and try.  I'll report findings once back onsite next week.  Thank you!

At bit late on my response…Installed both the OpenManage Server Administrator and DSET.  Ran the DSET as suggested and memory errors were cleared.  On top of the memory failure, I found network cables in the front office being kicked around during the day by staff, so had to correct that as well.

Thank you for your help.
