PowerEdge 1950 - Cache battery 0 in controller 0 needs attention: Failed (Critical)

Hello, Nagios is reporting this error,

Nagios error:

Please suggest how to correct this and how critical it really is.

Have replaced the battery twice but he message immediately returns. Updated the OMSA and all firmware, still the error persists.

MEDIAMONKS,

With the controller and OMSA being up to date the issue likely is the battery itself. I would start by powering down the server and then reseat the controller, as well as the battery. If that doesn't resolve the issue I would suggest replacing the battery (part nu209).

Let me know if the Perc 6/i and battery reseat help resolve the issue.

If you check the battery connection, do you see any damage? It sounds like the issue may be the controller itself, or that connection point on the controller. 

Let me know if you see any issue with the connection. Do you happen to have a known good controller we can test in the system?

I have reseated the controller and replaced the battery twice with no resolution.

any other suggestions?
