Poweredge 2970 Memory Configuration Error E2011
I recently purchased 4GB of ECC ram and followed the instructions exactly for installation. I get the E2011 error every time I start it up. I have a hunch that it's because the ram I have is unbuffered. But, I couldn't find any documentation stating that buffered ram is required. Can anyone tell me if buffered ram is required?
Thanks!

Looking at Crucial's section for 2970 certified memory, you need to have ECC Registered memory. There's also ECC Unbuffered memory, which wouldn't be compatible.
Check your memory specs to see if it's indeed registered memory or unbuffered memory.

Not sure why it isn't in the documentation (that I could see), but it does indeed require Fully-Buffered ECC memory.
