Hello poby88

Unfortunately, the T110 II does not support 2003. It may be possible to install the OS on the server, but we did not design the T110 II to be compatible with 2003. Here is a list of supported/tested operating systems for the server:

http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/2684/home/dellsupportedoperatingsystems

To attempt to install the OS I would suggest that you make sure the version you are installing contains the latest service pack for 2003. You can go to the download page for the T110 to download controller drivers for the controller you are using. You will then need to either slipstream the controller driver into the CD or use some type of medium that the OS will believe is a floppy drive to install the driver from during setup. You can use a USB floppy or format a pen drive to emulate a floppy. You can then press F6 during setup to install the controller driver from floppy.

Most likely you will experience blue screens during installation, and even if you are able to complete the install it will most likely not be stable. If it is necessary that you use 2003 then I would suggest contacting your sales rep to return this server. I'm not showing that we currently sell new T110's, but I am showing that we have refurbished units available on dell.com/outlet.

I apologize for the inconvenience, thanks

As Daniel said, it may still be possible to install 2003 ... if you are patient and with a little luck.  Just like XP, 2003 is not a modern OS, and more and more hardware is not going to work with it.

If you need more assistance, let us know which RAID/storage controller you are using.

You MUST have SP2 on your 2003 CD.  Use nLite to integrate it if your media only has SP1.  You can use nLite to integrate the storage driver too, since 2003 can only get storage drivers from floppy disks at the F6 prompt during Setup.

The best way to do this is to install a hypervisor, like VMWare, HyperV, etc. and install 2003 as a virtual machine.

Hello, sorry to dig up an old post, but this is the only thing I could find relevant.

I need to install 2003 on a T110 II also, but am unsure which drivers to slipstream into the OS install disk I was going to create. When the regular install disk BSODs when installing windows, there is no specific error code that helps me to troubleshoot what drivers I need to include, just "remove any new disks or disk controllers".

Related details:
Service Tag:<ADMIN NOTE: Service tag removed per privacy policy> | Express Service Code:<ADMIN NOTE: Express service code removed per privacy policy>

Target OS: Server 2003 Enterprise R2 w/SP2 x64

Installation source (attempting to troubleshoot): Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise with SP2 x86
Other Attempted Source: Windows Server 2003 Enterprise x64

You know, it's ok (and advisable) to start your own thread.

Which controller are the disks connected to?

Hello Daniel,

Why i still can see the Windows server 2003 in the list of supported OS url link you provided even you says  it's not supported by T110?

Best Regards,
