When it said it failed the integrity check, you should have been able to continue. The integrity check comes up because USC checks the hash of the catalog file that is being used. RM doesnt generate a hash, so USC lets you know, then will let you proceed with the process.

There is no option to continue, just a OK button which takes you back to select SSU source.

The full message is

The repository you selected as a source for the update failed an integrity check.  Please recreate the repository or provide an alternative source.

I have tried re- downloading and recreting the repository from scratch but still get the same message.  I am downloading and exporting the extire R710 4.1 Windows Bundle.

When you go to load the data from the SUU Source there is a pull-down on the screen "Platform Update" -> "Local Repository (Step 2 of 3 )".  Are then any other entries in the pull-down ?

No, no other optiins.

I have no downloaded the Linux SUU from RM and this worked without any issues.

Can anyone advise if USC should work with the Windows SUU?

Strange.  I am unable to use the exported LINUX SUU but the Windows SUU does work ?

When I use the LINUX SUU I get "No update is available.  Make sure that the Windows catalog and DELL Update Packages for Windows are used".

I should note that starting with USC 1.4, the USC only uses WIndows dups to perform the updates. You can only see the version of USC in the Platform Updates > View Current version.  The version shown in the lower left corner of the USC home screen is the UEFI version (v2.1), not the USC version. If you want to perform updates via the USC,  you must create an SUU with the Windows dups, or both the WIndows and Linux dups can reside on the same disc, like the SUU iso is.

Jim, yes,  you need to update to version 1.4 minimum, 1.5 would be even better.

Ok, I am still unable to update FW from the USC using the Windows or Linux SUU.  Both give me the integrity check error.

I did manage to update the firmware yesterday by booting from the Dell SBUU DVD and using the Linux SUU.

I have a lot of these Servers to update so any help getting the USC working is appreciated.

Hamboney,

Did you export the entire latest Windows bundle (Version 4.1 I think) to a SUU from RM?

Did you use ISO or disk?

DId you get any warning about Integrity check?

Dell-ReyG

I have USC version 1.2, do I need to update this to get it working?

Is there an option I need to change that would let me continue after the Integrity Checker error?

Thanks

Yes sir, i did export  all of the Components from the 4.1.0 Bundle.  I even did the v4.0.0 bundle as well.  Both Windows version.

I used an ISO, then remotely mounted it ( the server is at a Remote Site ) via Avocent.

No warnings, no issues.

Sorry to hear about all your troubles.  Let me know if you need me to check anything...

OK, Thanks you both,

Hamboney, Did you choose to download the additional components when you selected the bundle?

Dell-Rey G , Can you advise how to do this, I updated everything using the latest Linux SUU bundle via SSBU but the USC version is still 1.2?

What we do is access the DELL FTP Repository, limit our scope to just the Platforms we support, and then Save it local.

When a new Bundle Version is released we create a new Local Repository.

As new DUPs are released on the web-site we use the local copy to add the new DUPs to ( but the current DUPs on the web-site are broken ).

jim, lets start with what you do show in your USC versions. On bootup, press F10 to enter the system services when prompted in the upper right corner. Once you are in, select Platform Update, then View Current Versions. A screen shot would be great, but if not, just give a short decription of what each version is at, like bios 3.0, brodcom 6.2.14 etc.  tip: in order to attach a screenshot, use the rich formatting link below next to the reply button.

Hi, USC shows current versions as follows

Broadcom NetXtreme 6.216

BIOS 6.0.7

IDRAC 1.8.0

Dell OS Driver Pack 6.1.1.6

Dell 32bit Diag 5118A0

Dell USC 1.2.0.41

Power Supply 08.07.00

When I boot from the Dell Systm Build Update Utility and view hardware, the USC is not displayed, hence why I think it is not being updated.

Hi Jim, I think I have reproduced your problem here. I tried to give the USC the SUU disc, and I got the same error, and my USC is up to date. That means that the SUU created by RM is not valid for some reason. i recommend trying to run the USC update manually. The link below will take you to the download location. You can choose the windows exe or the .bin for linux, depending on your OS. www.dell.com/.../DriverFileFormats

Also, just in case you dont already have it, the latest version of SBUU is 6.5, here is the link

www.dell.com/.../DriverFileFormats

And if you really want to, here is the Complete SUU 6.5.3, but you will need a Dual Layer disc to burn it to, and there are 4 segments that need to be concatenated. Download all 4 ISO file segments into an empty subdirectory on your local hard drive.  After you have downloaded all the file segments, run the following command to create the ISO file:

copy /b om*  om653_suu_a00.iso  [Windows]

cat  om*  > om653_suu_a00.iso [Linux]

www.dell.com/.../DriverFileFormats
