Uncorrectable ECC error bank 2
HI,
I have a PowerEdge R200 which was offline this morning - it appears to have crashed around 3am, and running the express hardware diagnostics in the Utility Screen is showing an Uncorrectable ECC error on bank 2, and O/S critical stop / shutdown sensor (0x00) Critical stop during O/S run. Both are dated two weeks ago, error code 2900:0221and when accepting the error messages, it seems to crash again and the screen flickers away and the resolution goes out of range.
I've removed the DIMMs 1+3, repeated the diagnostics, and the error returns, and then removed 2+4 (with 1+3 back in) and done the same with the same result.
I've read on this forum that this error may be due to a failing slot, the server also has a capacitor which is starting to deform next to the 24-pin power connector, and as it was purchased 9 years ago I wouldn't be surprised if it were on its way out.
Any help with diagnostics is appreciated!

Hello
You need to clear the ESM/hardware log and perform testing again. 2900 errors are notifications that there are errors in the logs. Diagnostics will not run if there are errors in the logs. I suggest saving the log before you clear it.
When you swap the memory and run diagnostics again you need to clear the logs again. You need to clear logs every time you run diagnostics if an error is in the log.
Thanks
