iDRAC6 Console Issue
I recently updated all of servers with iDRAC6 modules from firmware version 1.99 to 2.80 as some of them became un-reachable and required a reset. After completing this I found when launching the console I would get the following error after Java loaded up:
Login failed, possibly due to slow network connection. Please try again.
I did find a thread that indicated deselecting Video Encryption fixed the issue for others in the past, however this did not work.
I did discover that this issue only occures when I login with AD creds, i.e. Microsoft Active Directory. If I use the local root creds the console launches without issue.
I have verified that this functioned on the previous firmware version 1.99.

I've run into the same scenario. I've updated a number of R710 iDRAC6 modules to 2.80 recently.
Viewing the DRAC from 2008 R2 systems (Running IE 11), I can start the console in Native mode.
-Some required turning off Video Encryption, some did not.
-Was logged in with AD credentials
-Using Native, since java is not widespread in my org.
From newer clients (Windows 8.1 / Windows 10) with IE 11, it appears to just fail to download the ActiveX control.
-Switching to Java caused the "possibly due to slow network connection" message.
After finding this thread, I went back and tested logging in with a DRAC user account and confirmed I can use the java console without issue from the same client that failed with the "slow network connection" message before.
Ideally, would like to see both Java/ActiveX versions of the console work with the current standards for desktop OS and browsers, considering 2.80 is the most recent update.

I've encountered this same thing with an R710 and R810. Does anyone have a solution? Like you've suggested, I also found that everything works properly when using a local DRAC account. I'm loathe to update any more servers to 2.80 if we're going to lose our AD virtual console access.

Having the exact same issue since updating to 2.80 firmware. None of the LDAP users can open the Java console because of this error: "Login failed, possibly due to slow network connection". Definitely worked on 1.98 firmware.
Can anyone from Dell comment on a potential firmware fix being released?
