Maximum Storage Capacity for PowerEdge 1950 III

Hi Guys,

Just wondered what the maximum capacity of HDDs that the PowerEdge 1950 III can take. Ive currently got a 300GB 15k Cheetah drive installed in bay 0 but i want to change them out for 2TBs. Can I do this or do they have to be smaller. I read on some other forums that it can take up to 2x2TB drives but according to the Spec sheet it can only take up to 2x750GB which would be disappointing.

If you need any more information I can happily provide it.

Thanks,
Arron

Regardless of the controller you are using, the maximum disk size is 2TB. Just don't use cheap desktop/laptop or NAS drives.

I popped in $55 Seagate 2TB  Barracuda drives and they work fine with the RAID controller. I set them up for RAID 0 because I have external backup. No reason why you shouldn't be able to use larger drives.
