No Logical Drives Found, No Int 13 Drives to Support, PowerEdge 4600
Just today myself and some assistants decided to clean our file server after installing two new 300GB SCSI 80pin 10k drives in the last two bays with the following specs:
- PowerEdge 4600
- Windows 2003 R2 SP2
- Dell PowerEdge RAID Adaptec Controller: 3/Di V2.8-0 [Build 6095]
- ESM 1.77
- Primary Backplane firmware 1.01
- Bios: A13
- Hard Drives: 8 SCSI 80pin 10k rpm Seagate Cheetah-All bays are full.
After carefully cleaning out the interior and being careful to clean one drive bay at a time and rebooting the server we noticed the following:
- First of all the RAID controller takes forever to scan the hard drives, whether we decide to go into its bios or not,
- No logical drives found! is diplayed after the scan,
- No Int 13 drives to support is diplayed after the scan.
Does anyone have any idea if maybe the RAID controller is bad or any other suggestions. We have looked the system in and out to make sure that everything is connected properly. I have to get it up and running by Monday!!
Thanks once again!!
