PERC 100 - Drives not listed

Hello all,

Sorry if this was answered somewhere, I couldn't find it. I was given an old Dell PowerEdge R310 and asked to spin it up for some testing. I wanted to set it up with a Raid 5, so I threw in two WD 1TB drives. I changed the BIOS to raid and went into the raid controller settings. Inside there, the drives weren't showing up. The only thing that is listed is the dvd tray. Could someone point me in the right direction please?

Thanks!

Hello

Could someone point me in the right direction please?

How are the drives connected to the system? Are they SAS or SATA drives?

Thanks

They are attached

Yes, I understand that the drives are attached. How are they attached? Are they connected to a backplane or cabled? If they are cabled, what are the cables connected to? Are you using cables that came with the system or regular SATA cables? Did you connect power to the HDDs?

Thanks
