R320, disabling RAID (urgent)

Hi

I have a windows 7 on Dell R320 machine with RAID 10 on 4 SAS HDDs.

I want to format and install Windows on 1 of the hard disk, and use
the rest of the Hard disk for space. I do not want any RAID.

Can you please assist me the steps to be done.
Should I change anything in BIOS?

Thanks and regards

Az

This depends on your controller model.  I'm assuming you don't have an S110, since you are using SAS drives.

H310 - CAN use disks in non-RAID mode.  You must first delete your existing RAID array, then leave the drive(s) unconfigured to use as non-RAID.

H710 - CANNOT use disks in non-RAID - ALL disks must be configured in a RAID array in order to be presented to the OS.  If you need to use a non-redundant, single, individual drive, then it must be configured as a single-disk RAID 0.

Hello Faisal A,

You can install your OS to SSD. I'd recommend using the LifeCycle controller OS Deploy wizard. You will be able to select the disk you want to install to.

Check this page and go down to  2.1. Using the LifeCycle Controller

Please let me know how it goes.
