SAS 6/iR HDD question

Hello.

There is a card in the DELL T110 server.

Original installation:

Connector 0

Virtual Disk 0, RAID 1, Disk 0,1

2 x 1TB NSAS HDD

-----------------------

New installation I want to add:

Conncertor 0

Virtual Disk 0, RAID 1, Disk 2,3

2 x 500GB SATA HDD (Toshiba DT01ACA050)

When I install this on disk 1, the Toshiba HDD appears on the SAS 6 / iR BIOS.
However, it treats as good as 0.1 disk SAS 1TB.

(Disk 0 - SAS TB, Disk 1 SATA 500GB, Disk 2 SATA 500GB)

However, it looks as though it was a disk of 0,1 disk SAS 1TB

Thx

Hello

I'm unable to understand the issue you are trying to describe.

The slots are physical. If you connect a drive to a slot and it shows on a different slot or a slot that doesn't exist then it is likely a cable issue or firmware communication issue. If the controller is unable to properly communicate with the firmware on the disk then it is possible for any information about the disk to either not be populated or be incorrect on the controller.

If you are having issues with unsupported drives operating on the controller then I suggest trying other drives.

Thanks
