SAS/6IR - Array again PermDegraded after replacement - enforce Sync?

Hi!
I changed a failed harddisk to a new one. Controller SAS/6IR started synchronization but failed again now ("PermDegraded"). How is it possible to enforce a re-sync on this new harddrive?
Best regards, Jens

Jmeyerdo,

If you don't have a backup already you should probably get one done. An array showing as PermDegraded is where the volume is permanently degraded. This state indicates that the failure threshold on the primary member was reached while no secondary was available for correction. The data on the volume may be accessible, but the volume cannot be returned to the optimal state. So you would need to backup and then delete the volume and reformat the drives. After that you can install the OS and restore the data.

Let me know if this helps answer your question.

Thank you for your answer. Even if I hoped that there would be an easier solution for that...
As this is a host-system for several virtualized systems we will migrate the virtualized guest systems at first and re-install the host server with newly created array.
