Hello.
This error usually occurs during you operating system installation directly from the bootable media when the internal SD card has a higher preference than the RAID controller in the boot device sequence. You can either disable the internal SD card or boot into the system setup using F2 key during POST and give the RAID controller a higher preference than the SD card in the boot device sequence.

No SD Card.
Here is how i corrected the issue.
So, the catch here was not to go from creating the RAID partiion directly to booting from the MS 2012 installation media. But to go through the Life Cycle menu system and use that to boot to the media.
Don't recall reading that anywhere. Serves me right for getting lazy and having the WS 2012 already installted when I retrieve the server.
The above is not listed as a step by step but to give you the gist of what worked for me. Actually I did it twice to make sure.
Let me know questions or other things that would have made this easier.

My error during partition in windows server 2012 r2 is "We couldn't install Windows in the location you chose. Please check your media drive. Here's more info about what happened: 0x80300024.". I have 2 SSD in RAID 1 Kingston model SUV400S37/240G, tried your CTRL - R method, but the raid controller can't detect it. But when i'm in lifecycle controller it can detect it and possible to create RAID 1.
