1950 Battery Status

Hi - we have a PE1950, approximately 4 years old, with a DRAC5 card installed.  In the DRAC interface, the batteries both show as 'good' (see screengrab).  We also monitor this server with BMC Portal, and that is reporting a battery problem, as per the message below.  Do I have faulty battery, or a spurious error message?

BMC error:

Status: WARNING! (Problem: This battery is degraded. Reported status: Learning)

Status report
***********
Monitored object: BAT-1 (DELL - Battery 0)
Type: Battery
DeviceID: 1

Parameter: Status (Currently in WARNING state)
*********
Current value: Degraded
Unit : OK ; Degraded = Warning ; Critical or Missing = Alarm
Current state: WARNING

Thresholds (Default):
- If Status value has degraded: Trigger a WARNING
- If Status value is Critical or Missing: Trigger an ALARM

Problem: This battery is degraded. Reported status: Learning
Consequence: Check that number of allowed recharges has not been exceeded and that the current full charge capacity (FCC) is close to the full charge capacity of initial battery.
Recommended action: The battery needs to be replaced or reconditioned.

Tim Fawcett,

I would start by verifying that the ESM and the Perc controller are up to date.

This is the current ESM version - www.dell.com/.../poweredge-1950

What controller is installed? The PErc 5/i, 6/i, or SAS 6/ir? Let me know and I will get you the links.

Also, in the battery on that page, what does the learn cycle count show as?
