About Driver

Hello,

I've got Dell PowerEdge T110 II (Bios: 2.10.0)  model server and I installed Win10. Onboard graphic card is you know Matrox.

1) Which driver can be usefull for 1366x768 resolution? or

2) Which graphic card can be use on PCI slots?

I read a lot of messasges for this topic but unfortunately they are not clear for me. Thank you.

Hello @DiegoLopez

Thanks for your information. You said, "Windows 10 is not a supported OS for a PowerEdge T110 II." But Now, I'm writing this message from T110 II with Win10 OS. It is working without any problem. The main problem is only graphic card resolution. My monitor resolution normally 1366x768 but now I'm using with 1024x768 .

Ok, I understand, may be onboard graphic card hasn't got any driver for Win 10 but what about the external graphic cards? I should be able to plug in an external video card. Because there are PCI slots. Why did Dell put these PCI slots if I couldn't install it? Thanks.

Hello @notrino,

The issue is that Windows 10 is not a supported OS for a PowerEdge T110 II. Here you have a list of the supported OS for PowerEdge T100 II: Supported Operating Systems

All downloadable firmwares and drivers for the T110 II and its supported operating systems are on our download page.

I think you are looking for a out of the box solution. I suggest we let the the topic open for the Community to provide their experience.

Please, let us know if we can answer any other question.
Regards.

Notrino,

When he said the OS isn't supported, it doesn't mean it definitely won't work, it means that Dell won't support installing a Desktop OS on the server. As far as the graphic card, again it isn't supported. We don't support bypassing the embedded video for a graphics card on the T110 II. Since it isn't supported we couldn't tell you what card works or if it even would, as it isn't tested by us. So it would be basically be based on trial and error.

Let me know if this helps.

What makes you think an add-in graphics card should work? It is a server, not a workstation, and it's designed capabilities support server use cases, which would almost never include a graphics card installation (now if we are talking about VDI graphics, etc., then that is a server use case scenario, but this server is NOT one you would use to implement that sort of configuration). PCIe slots support enterprise-class add-in cards for external storage, network connectivity, etc. Graphics tie into more than just the PCIe bus, it affects the server management devices that use the graphics chip to redirect output for management purposes.

Hello @DELL-Chris H @theflash1932

Thank you.

All I wanted was 1366x768 resolution, not 1024x768. I am not running games or pursuing high graphics performance. I thought of standard youtube videos for home use like word-excel. Because my monitor is 1366x768. I didn't even guess that the Dell T110-2 would have a hard time doing that much. In this case I think I have to find a 1024x768 monitor. Is not it funny?

Hello again @DELL-Chris H @theflash1932 @DiegoLopez

The real solution is: USB to VGA converter. It is supporting all resolutions. (https://www.hepsiburada.com/s-link-sl-uv15-usb-to-vga-donusturucu-pm-bsbt3004112840257)
