Adding more memory to dell poweredge R710
I have a dell poweredge R710, currently with 96GB of memory , and with the 8GB DIMMS installed in the following slots:
A1, A4, A2, A5, A3, A6
and
B1, B4, B2, B5, B3, B6
The 8GB DIMMS have the following inscriptions on them:
8GB 2Rx4 PC3 - 10600R-9-10-E1
Now I want to add the two 16GB DIMMs to the existing 96 GB to make a total of 128GB on my server.
The 16GB DIMMS have the following inscriptions on them:
16GB 2Rx4 PC3L -10600R-9-13-E2
Please recommend:
1) what is the best or optimal memory configuration to use the above batches of 8GB and 16GB DIMMs on the dell poweredge R710, to get 1333Mhz and 128 GB total RAM ?
2) as noted, the 8GB is PC3 and the 16GB is PC3L. Does this make a difference, and are both compatible to be working concurrently with other ?

DBXJ,
The only supported option I think would be placing the 16gb in slot A1 and B1. Now to answer your other question, the PC3 and PC3L (low voltage) can be used concurrently, but you are paying more for the Low Voltage dimms, and when installed they will be flagged a 1.5 volt. So you are paying for more and not getting to use it.
Hope this helps.

Thank you for the advice. So, if I put the 16GB DIMMS in A1 and B2, in what other memory slots do I put the remaining 8GB DIMMS to make a total of 128 GB of RAM ?

The R710 Owner's Manual documents the memory population guidelines that should be followed: https://downloads.dell.com/manuals/all-products/esuprt_ser_stor_net/esuprt_poweredge/poweredge-r710_owner%27s%20manual_en-us.pdf
