Backup Exec 10.0d Slow
Hi,
Here is my configuration:
PowerEdge 2850
- 4GB RAM
- Adaptec 39160 (Driver:6.4.630.100)
- Quantum SuperLoader 3 with an LTO 3 Tape Drive
- PERC 4/DC
- PowerVault 220s
- Backup Exec 10.0d
Problem:
I am backing up from the PowerVault to the LTO 3 and it extremely slow. Here are the statistics:
Backed up 800650 files in 79532 directories.
Processed 446715670339 bytes in 4 hours, 13 minutes, and 22 seconds.
Throughput rate: 1681 MB/min
Verified 800650 files in 79532 directories.
0 files were different.
Processed 446715670339 bytes in 2 hours, 38 minutes, and 42 seconds.
Throughput rate: 2684 MB/min
I have called Quantum and when we isolate the drive, the throughput is what is expected.
I have called Symantec and we have verified that the Backup Exec Software is optimized.
I am now looking to Dell to give me some options. Essentially I am backing up 96GB in an hour.
PLEASE HELP!!!
Thanks
Mike Wolf
