Broadcom 57416 Dual Port10GbEBASE - TAdapter on T630

Hello All
We received above board into a batch of T440, and wanted to use temporarily one into our T630 to test new network configuration before committing to system migration, but we can't see the board on System Setup directly on the server, while it shows up on Idrac. The server software (Proxmox) doesn't see it, either.

Tried upgrading BIOS and Idrac to latest versions, but no cigar.
No way to get this board running on a T630 ?

Thanks!

Thank you for this feedback. Is there any issue after plug in that card into the #2 slot.

If detection is correct under Proxmox, I could recommand to let the server in this configuration if it's for test purpose.

Hi,

  1. Did you use PCI Express Gen 3 x8 slot ?
  2. As for T630, 2 CPUs are needed for all PCI slots to be available.

AWWW!!

Plugged into lower chassis slots (CPU#2), but have a single CPU unit.

Once again, RTFM.

The point is: why iDrac express detects it but BIOS is not ?

Thank you for quick help!

Hi would you be so kind to re explain what the situation is? Were you trying to take out an NIC from the T440 and plug into the T630?

Looks like the board will fit only slot #2, but manual states that NICs should go to #1 or #3...

What should I do ? Upgrading to a 2nd processor could probably not be a quick solution.
