The 1850 won't support the 7130M level processors. The fastest one it supports is the 3.8G Xeon Irwindale 2M R0 (Kit part number XF434). Let me know if you need anything else.

The Intel Xeon 7k-series is typically for quad processor servers. These use a very different chipset than dual processor servers. Processors that are made for one chipset won't work in the other. Some retail motherboards support some Xeon 7k-series processors because they use the chipset that supports that processor, but it just has 2 processor sockets. You pay a (hefty) premium for this type of board though (usually supports a lot more memory with quad cpu capable chipsets and processors), which is why OEMs like HP, Dell and IBM don't bother using that chipset type in their dual processor servers.

Thanks for your reply.  Do you know what the incompatibility issues are?  The Cache?  Wattage/Voltage... Parity etc?
