the document does not explain how to connect via USB, or what sw to use, do you have more information ?

If you have Dell UPS Mgmt software installed on your computer already, you should be able to connect your computer to the UPS via the USB and the software should see it. You do need the mgmt sw installed.

thats the one I have , it does not recognize  / connect to the ups device - while Local node manager can do it, so its not the Cable or USB port.

ok I reboot the device (unplug, plug) where the ethernet is not connected and the ups is not connected, I then connected them, no diff

is that what you meant ?

the answers are too short, not sure I understand what you mean by reseat the management card  ?

You may want to consider calling in to support, so they can work with you directly to connect the UPS. The reason being is we can't directly analyze or debug the connection via the forums.

Because these UPS(Eaton is the OEM) went out of sale >5-7 years ago. Its unlikely that a customer have a supportet one these days.

I use Firefox 31.5.0 to access this old stuff.

Because you already reboot the "Application", this is how it named within the Card, by reseating the board i think you should buy a USB->RS232 cable to get access to the card.

Because we have other brands as well and maybe i mixed something up within my brain. If there is a small reset button it sould work in 2 ways

  1. Short pressing is resetting the Application
  2. Hold long... factory reset (at least for the networking stuff)

Regards,
Joerg

You should be able to contact your regions support and then upon giving the service tag they should route you to the correct support group.

dow  not work via rs232 cable as well - local node manager identify it via port 4 (comm)

but the UPS management sw does not
