CentOS 8 and H800

I installed the H800 card in my R720xd and have two MD1200 connected. I was able to boot into the H800 BIOS and set up RAID 6 across both of them and do the fast init. When CentOS 8 boots up, it does not see the H800 card via fdisk -l. Even DSU doesn't show it when doing an inventory. I tried the SAS-RAID_Firmware_XKF5X_LN_12.10.7-0001_A13.BIN update and it doesn't see the H800 either.

It's hard to tell but I think that although this card was not listed on RHEL https://access.redhat.com/discussions/3722151 it has to have been removed too. In reading on their forums https://access.redhat.com/discussions/3722151?page=2, it seems that the drivers are still included in Oracle Linux 8's UEK kernel. I'll have to test it.

Hi Steffan,

did you try the older Version of CentOS?

Because i checked the CentOS Forum and found that the community could install and use only older Versions.

You mean as in CentOS 7? Yes. I did but that's even father EOL. The UEK kernel is giving me a hard time with the QLE2562 so I'm back to CentOS 8 and trying to find drivers for the card.

Hi,

your problem seems to be very tough to solve.

I think you should try to open a thread in CentOs community, too.

Did you contact Qlogic for driver assistance?
