Compatibility HBA355e Adapter with third parties SAN switches

Hi there,

Which are the other vendors' SAN switches compatible with this card? Is there any list?   (in particular with HPE switches)

Thanks!

The HBA355e is a HBA with 4 external SAS Ports in a non raid fashion. Normaly thats used for a point to point connection and not like a fabric.  A decade ago there was a SAS Switch made by LSI but that was never adopted by the big Vendors.

This is not a FC HBA or a Network card so you cant use Brocade like FC SAN switches or similar.

IIRC there was also SAS switching in the HP C7000. But again it was years ago and ends with 6Gig/s or so.

Hello, thanks for choosing Dell.

Dell Host Bus Adapter 355e(Dell HBA355e Adapter) is a non-RAID solution card that is used as a data controller by connecting to external JBODs and tape drives. The features of the cards include: All are PCIe cards with Gen 4 PCIe x eight host interfaces. All provide dual SAS/SATA Gen 3 device interfaces.

This HBA card you mentioned has slots only not any SFP+ modules: depending on the SFP+ module it can be compatible with SAN switches but we don't know what type of FC SFP+ modules used by customer.
