Configuration Memory M610
Hi,
We have blade server M610 with 4GB memory. Each CPU side has 6 slots to a total of 12 slots. Today, i want to upgrade my memory configuration to 8 dimm of 1 GB. I try to upgrade and i have a error message when the server boot "the memory configuration is not optimal" and "Strike the F1 key to continue and F2 to run the system setup program". So when i arrive at work in the morning my server is not started :emotion-7:.
Here is my configuration :
A1 = 1GB B1 = 1Gb
A4 = 1Gb B4 = 1 Gb
A2 = 1Gb B2 = 1 GB
A5 = Empty B5 = Empty
A3 = 1Gb B3 = 1GB
A6 = Empty B6 = Empty
How do i configure my Dimm ?
Thanks for your support.

Good morning . What type of memory was installed (UDIMM, RDIMM) and does the new DIMM's match the old ones?

A mix of RDIMM and UDIMM would have caused a "no post no video" with an error code on the control panel probably.
The problem is that you didn't follow the rules for memory population on Intel Xeon 5500/5600 series processors.
This is how you want to populate the slots to get rid of that message.
A1 = 1GB B1 = 1Gb
A4 = 1Gb B4 = 1 Gb
A2 = 1Gb B2 = 1 GB
A5 = 1GB B5 = 1GB
A3 = Empty B3 = Empty
A6 = Empty B6 = Empty
