Dell PowerEdge 2950 / 2nd Processor upgrade

I have a Dell PowerEdge 2950 with the following processor:

Dell Part # NN046 - Processor, 80556K, Xeon Clovertown, L5335, LGA771, G0

I would like to get a 2nd processor and my Dell rep has told me that Dell no longer sells 2nd processors for this PowerEdge. Any ideas on what a process upgrade would be even if we had to get two new ones. According to

http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/servers/f/956/p/19365441/19824096.aspx

there are several processors that this will support but I am not sure how to proceed!

Thanks!

Thanks Todd - This unit is still under warranty so I would like to get the process(s) from Dell as to not void the warranty. Do you have a Dell part number for the 5300 and 5400 processors?

Putting in processors from a different source doesn't void your warranty, but there is another issue; you need the exact heatsink for the 1950's 2nd processor socket (not sure if extra fans are needed/come with it or if the existing chassis fans will just be used). With name brand servers usually the chassis related parts are unique to that one model from that one vendor, so you probably won't be able to get some kind of retail solution on there. However, there is a decent market for used Dell parts, so a Dell PE1950 heatsink like you need may be available from other vendors.
