Dell Poweredge R720xd upgraded to v2 CPU runs at 1600MHz memory speed

I have a Dell R720xd LFF with the latest BIOS 2.7.0 which I just have upgraded to E5-2630 v2 CPUs. It seems to be running fine except it does not run memory at 1866MHZ (128GB 8x 16GB PC3-14900R Samsung M393B2G70DB0-CMA), slowing it down to 1600MHz. I have a few other R720, including R720xds, that do not experience this problem.

I tried changing system memory speed in BIOS but it did not take. Any idea what is going on, thanks

Hello

I looked at the specifications for the E52630 V2 and E52630L V2. The maximum supported memory speed for both shows 1600. This appears to be a limitation of the memory controller on the CPU.

Thanks

Aha, I see. I guess I will have to go to E5-2650v2 or 2660v2 to get 1866, thanks
