Dell R310 RAM upgrade
Hi there,
I've got a DELL PowerEdge R310 with Xeon X3430 Quad Core 2,4GHz.
I'm trying to install 4 DIMMs (8 GB each) in order to have 32 GB RAM.
Which sequence do I have to use to install the DIMMs?
I tried several sequences but I never could view 32 GB. I've got 6 slots on my server.
All DIMMs are IBM 8GB 4Rx8 PC3L-8500R DDR3 Registered Server-RAM VLP Modul REG ECC - 46C0582

Hello
The modules should be populated in slots 1-4. If they are not working then they are likely not compatible. I don't show any 8GB IBM memory modules validated for the R310. You can find the memory population rules in the manual.
