Dell R410 Sata ports not found

Hi everyone,

My R410 has a backplane with 2 SAS disks, also it has a raid controller. Well, I need to use the PCI port on the mainboard for a NIC 4xGigabit, but I have to removed my raid controller and also the backplane, for this I bought this sata cable:

To connect my disks directly to the mainboard using the sata ports, but unfortunately when the server boots it shows the following message:

Sata A port not found

Sata B port not found

In the SATA options on bios is configured on Auto, but the disks are shown as unknown.

I would appreciate any suggestion, thanks.

What type of drives are you trying to connect? The on board sata controller will not be able to use or recognize sas drives in most cases, I'm not 100% sure what controller the R410 has off the top of my head.
