Hello Ascubal

I verified with an R510 12+2 configuration in our lab. The ID button on the rear is functional on this configuration. The rear button relays to the control panel; which then relays back to the system board.

If you feel comfortable reseating the control panel then I would try that first(Make sure all power is disconnected first). The control panel is located in a small holder at the front right bezel. It is behind the vga connector on the front. If you remove the top cover you should be able to see a small thin cable that runs down that side of the chassis and then loops into the chassis to connect to the backplane. It is the thin cable at the bottom center of this picture. In this picture it is disconnected and the backplane is removed:

If you unscrew the bracket holding in the control panel then you can also reseat the cable at that end.

If reseating that cable does not resolve the issue then either the control panel, backplane, or system board would likely need to be replaced to resolve the issue. I don't know of a way to tell which part is causing the communication failure without swapping components. I would suggest contacting support if replacement is necessary.

Thanks

Hi and thanks for a good answer. Sadly, it did not fix the problem.
