Dell R620 1U Rackmount server

Recently upgraded server from Server 2012 R2 to Server 2019 and now having issue when server begins POST of iDRAC, the fans are @ Full speed making my home office sound like a runway strip at an airport.  They stay on full blast after they ramp up too.  Prior to this, the fans were fine cooling is not an issue as I keep it pretty cold in the room at all times.  Just started happening after the update to the new OS.  The BIOS was updated a couple of months ago and the iDRAC was updated after experiencing this issue.  I also re-installed the OS to see if that may have caused it.  Wasn't sure if someone else had an easy fix or not.  Thanks in advance!!

Hello

I would boot into the BIOS or LifeCycle Controller to see if the fan speeds are the same there. If the fan speeds are at max RPM in the BIOS/LCC then it is not an OS issue. The only thing I can think would affect fan speeds in the OS would be the ACPI driver.

The fans are controlled by the iDRAC. There are many reasons the iDRAC may increase fan speed. I would check for errors in the hardware log. You can also drain flea power to clear volatile memory. If the issue started after a restart then something may just be corrupt in the memory. You can find documentation on the system on the support page.
