Dell T630 Intel 4P T350-t SR-IOV Which PCI Slot Is Best?

Hi

I have it installed currently in the X4 slot  - OS reports its all OK

Whenever I utilize it in Hyper V guest it throws this error

I ran this command and I looked up MissingAcs which indicates it might not be supported in the PCI slot

Can you advise the best PCI slot for the SR-IOV to work ok?

Thanks

Hello, this is all I could offer and I'm afraid it doesn't say anything about speed.

Thanks its in the x4 slot - which is what the card is rated for.

Is moving it into a x16 slot going to make any difference for SR-IOV?

Hello @jonessc

As far as I know SR-IOV is not supported on the PowerEdge T140, R240, T340, and R340 platforms. So I can guess it is not supported on the T630 either.

Please see page 45-47 of the Intel Ethernet Adapters and Devices User Guide for SR-IOV supported servers and PCIE configurations:

For the built in ones maybe, but I'm using the card thats higlighted in image, SR-IOV global has been enabled and each NIC on the 350 has the virtualization enabled in bios device setting.

Hi, I’d suggest that you find slots but slot 2 then you must enable SR-IOV in the system's BIOS or HII. And you still don’t see it, I’m afraid that means SR-IOV is not supported.
