Dell power Edge r720 memory upgrade
I have two dell PowerEdge r720, each has 16GB of memory ( Four 4GB UDIMM Dual Rank). I would to upgrade the Memory capacity of one of the servers by removing a 4GB stick from one and installing it in the other. After installing the memory in the server, i check out the available capacity and remained at 16gb. Is the something which has to be done to enable the additional memory or a particular slot which it needs to be installed in. The donor sever now show it has 12Gb which is correct.

Hello.
In what slots are your memory modules installed? Note that memory modules are populated in pairs and that each memory channel supports a maximum of 2 UDIMM modules. If add a third UDIMM to the memory channel, it will not be detected.
